Everything takes time. Busy people! No time! Mind-set strong. Change is a concrete wall. We see what we see and we believe and act on what we believe right, within our comfort zone.
If you visit a dentist, you would not expect a forest ranger to operate on you! Nor would you expect a skilled mechanic to address your retail brand problems. We don’t pick professional footballers at random. Human Resources excel in finding the right people with the right skill-set, character and nous for the role demanded. This is normal everywhere in the employment market.
Why therefore when it comes to the political elite (who have the authority and the need to create employment nationally) do we put the wrong skill-set together? Why do we assume political skills are mated with economic and entrepreneurial skills?
Politicians generally are from a class of Society that better reflect the role and culture of teaching, civil –service and Law. Yes, they have intelligence, flair and education; can articulate and argue well. However they do not reflect the skills and values of the business entrepreneur essential for job creation and economic security.
Currently across the developed world we see investment in property and big ICT projects. Wow! Job creation strategies and the only fresh thinking is that we build more homes and invest in companies like Ebay, Google and Yahoo! What have we learned about the recent housing bubble? What original thinking is offered? We know that investment in major platforms like Google do not create mass employment. There is a need to create millions of jobs and the leaders in our Society are unqualified and unable to deliver.
A recent visit by German financial auditors to Ireland were stunned to discover that no fresh commercial ideas were offered.
There is an answer however to the problem of job creation. Emerging technologies are giving us the solution to kick start mass employment. That solution is commercial nanotechnology. First come, first served countries will benefit. Small smart nations with vision and energy can leap-frog others to build new businesses in the hundreds and thousands. This new landscape will not reflect the rise of the ICT sector. It will develop from the commercial grass-root, from the artisan world upwards.
The world faces massive economic and Environmental challenges. Yes, new markets! These challenges cause political unrest and must be solved. New Markets! Continents like Africa and Asia need new products and services. Yes! New Markets.
The answer is simply to change gear and refocus. Get new advisers! Identify global market demands that need servicing. Upskill knowledge and training at home. Identify the power of commercial nanotechnology. Bottle it locally. Export it! It’s not rocket science.
We have the means of production and advanced knowledge to enhance all products and services. Every business sector globally needs to update and incorporate commercial nanotechnology.
Think commercial nanotechnology. Think new products, enhanced products, and enhanced services of every type. From infrastructure, transport, healthcare, energy, to food production, construction, pollution clean-up, communication and life quality. Commercial nanotechnology is our get-out-of jail card and wise political leaders will not ignore this much longer.
Emerging technology will create revenue, wealth and sustained economic security.
It will also solve all our critical energy, pollution, food and climate change issues.
